Over the past eight years, the annual Attack of the Killer Tomato Festival has raised more than $210,000 for Georgia Organics. This year, head on back to Park Tavern for a summer afternoon of food, drinks and live music paying homage to Georgia’s favorite vegetable, er, we mean fruit: the tomato. Headed up by chef Ford Fry, the ninth annual festival will offer an array of local, organic tomato-based dishes from dozens of different chefs, mixologists and restaurants, including Jeni Bauer of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, Kelly Fields of New Orleans’ Willa Jean, L.A. Korean taco king Roy Choi and a slew of local chefs. Proceeds help Georgia Organics connect food from Georgia farms to families in need. $45-$125. 1-5 p.m. Sun., July 16. Park Tavern, 500 10th St. N.E. 404-249-0001. www.killertomatofest.com.
