SCREEN. showcases a whole lotta film

Four different films via four different projectors - ALL AT THE SAME TIME.

SCREEN. bills itself as a projection show “for you, and by you.” The event pulls together a night of non-commercial films from a slew of local submissions. The guidelines were simple enough, barring any works under 15 seconds and over two minutes. Other than that, expect to see how people interpreted the prompt, “Simple: create something.”

Fair enough! The event will feature four different projectors screening four different films simultaneously. But don’t stress — that doesn’t mean a cacophony in surround-sound. All films will be played on mute, passing along sound responsibilities instead to the far more melodic DJ (specifically Andrew Lawandus, who is also creating a video to be shown). Among those scheduled to show work include Lauren Adams, Brandon Polack, and Lacey Valentini. Combination designer-animators and former Huge colleagues Linda McNeil and James Mabery spearhead the effort. Scope the preview above for a taste of the immersive experience slated for Sat., April 16.
