Thursday

Food 101 Aug. 24, 7-10 p.m. Ode to Israeli Cuisine Part two of this collaborative pop-up features chefs Linda Harrell of Food 101 and Jenny Levison of Souper Jenny cooking up a special Israeli-themed, family-style dining experience inspired by the cookbook, Zahav: A World of Israeli Cooking. A portion of the proceeds will go to Levison’s charity, The Zadie Project, which feeds soup to families and children in need.

Marlow’s Tavern Midtown Aug. 24, 11:30 a.m.-11 p.m. 10-year Anniversary Luau Marlow’s will celebrate a decade in Midtown with a Hawaiian-themed bash. Chow down on Hawaiian flatbreads and island punch cocktails served by Marlow’s regular Mary Schroeder and former Marlow’s bartender Corey Alfarano, the special guest bartenders for the night. Diners will also have a chance to win free dinners at Marlow’s every week for a year.

Restaurant Eugene Aug. 24, 6:30 p.m. Evening at Commander’s The legendary Ti Martin of New Orleans’ mainstay Commander’s Palace will be coming to Restaurant Eugene for one night only to host a cocktail reception and five course feast of Creole-Cajun cuisine with wine pairings. All guests will receive a signed copy of Miss Ella of Commander’s Palace (co-authored by Ti and her mother, Ella Brennan) and a chat with resident chef Linton Hopkins and Ti. A three-piece jazz band and second line will provide the entertainment. Tickets are $175 per person.

Ray’s at Killer Creek Aug. 25, 6:30 p.m. Benton’s & Bourbon Dinner Feast on a country ham-inspired menu paired with Buffalo Trace bourbons. Special guest Allan Benton will come straight from his smokehouse in Madisonville, Tennessee to greet guests. Tickets are $70 per guest. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 770-649-0064.

Saturday

Arches Brewing Aug. 26, 2017, 1-6 p.m. Tails and Ales Wanna hang with Fido and sip some brews on National Dog Day? Arches Brewing is partnering with Best Friends Animal Society (which helps find homes and services for pets) for a day of giving back. Bring your four-legged friend for Tails and Ales. Sandwich Food Truck will be on site for eats.

City Winery Aug. 26, 2017, 7-9 p.m. “Game of Thrones” Season Finale Dinner Huzzah! We found a fun way for knights and mistresses to carouse before this weekend’s “Game of Thrones” finale. Ponce City Market’s City Winery will transform into a grand banquet hall fit for a Stark or Lannister with sword fighting demos, a spread of royal food and even a souvenir goblet. Prizes will be awarded for best Medieval garb.

Cibo e Beve Aug. 26, 2017, 1-3 p.m. Cibo & the Big Green Egg To kick off football season, Cibo e Beve is hosting a Big Green Egg tailgate cooking workshop, teaching guests how to make garlic steak spiedini, smoked wings, spicy harissa marinated chicken spiedini, veggie “shawarma” skewers and three types of barbecue sauce. Red Hare Brewing Company Aug. 26, 2017, 2-6 p.m. Six Years of Six Packs To celebrate six years of beer, Marietta’s Red Hare Brewing Company will host a party featuring a variety of beers on tap, including fan favorites like Watership Brown and Chocolate Porter, along with live music from Migrant Worker and food from Carne 250, Tempted Palate and Patty Wagon. The brewery will also introduce a very limited Rabbit’s Reserve of the Funky Whabbit Wheat, aged in French Chardonnay barrels.

Woodruff Park Aug. 26, 2017, 2-7 p.m. 14th Annual German Bierfest Don your best lederhosen and head to Woodruff Park for a day of das merriment. Receive a commemorative glass to sample an unlimited selection of more than 35 different German beers, along with bites from local German restaurants and vendors serving up bratwurst, käsepätzle, pretzels, sauerkraut, schnitzel and more. Live music, activities and games round out the day. Tickets are $10-$40 per person.

King Plow Arts Center Aug. 27, 2017, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. 2017 Atlanta Culinary Fight Fest Back for its second season, this knock-down drag-out culinary event brings together some of the top chefs in the Southeast for a culinary competition judged by guests. Past Fight Fest winners will gather to show off their best bites before moving on to the Ultimate Battle Phase, where they’ll have to create a dish from a mystery box of ingredients. Attendees receive four drink tickets, chef samples, swag and live entertainment. A portion of proceeds goes to Fight2Feed ATL. Tickets here.

Hampton + Hudson Aug. 27, 2017 TV Land Vegan Sunday Supper Savannah Sasser has a four-course family style vegan supper planned with optional craft beer pairings from Creature Comforts Brewing Co. We’re told there will be fried “chicken” (seitan) on biscuit sliders with corn relish. Mmm.

Milton’s Cuisine & Cocktails Aug. 27, 2017 Garden Dinner Chef Derek Dollar’s curated menu of hors d’oeuvres and libations will be followed by a four-course seated dinner with wine pairings at Milton’s Acre, the restaurant’s one-acre garden. The menu will feature fresh ingredients straight from the garden. Tickets are $125 per person including wine, tax and gratuity and may be purchased here.
