Image Lorraine Christie<!-]}%-->Beauty can be found in everything, even the mundane affairs of life. Lorraine Christie uses a paintbrush and a misty palette to capture the unspoken moments and hidden emotion in the cityscape. In her latest exhibition, Past is Present, Christie showcases her most accomplished and distinctive works yet. Scenes of lovers reuniting after a long day in the office and strangers making eye contact on a rainy day are displayed through subtle colors and blurred brush strokes. Christie’s work is in the Museum of Ulster’s permanent collection in Belfast, and also featured in the esteemed “Discerning Eye” exhibition in London. Opens Fri., Feb. 9. Free. 6–8 p.m. Huff Harrington Fine Art, 4240 Rickenbacker Drive. 404-257-0511. www.huffharrington.com.
