The Fox Theatre proudly presents the return of The State Ballet Theatre of Russia with a timeless production of Sleeping Beauty on Sunday, Jan. 7 at 3 p.m. Composed by Pyotr Tchaikovsky and choreographed by Marius Petipa, Tchaikovsky based his ballet on the Brothers Grimm’s version of Charles Perrault’s “La Belle au bois dormant.” “Sleeping Beauty” received its premiere on Jan. 15, 1890, at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, and today, it stands as one of the world’s most beloved and oft-performed ballets.
